BRRRRRR it's COLD!! So let's take time to reflect on the Holidays shall we.....

Snow and or ice is predicted for tonight. My coworkers and I are currently doing a snow dance so that we can get a day off of school. We were "robbed" for some unknown reason of our usual Election Day holiday and feel a snow day is rightly derserved. So....BRING IT Jack Frost!

I must say that Christmas was a wild and busy time for the Floyd Melton Family as I'm sure it was for most everyone in existance. I got out of school a good 3 days after my children did but the very day I did get out...the partying/company began!! We didn't stop with activities until well after Christmas. We loved every second of being with family and friends this season. Lots of good times were had by all.
First we went out to dinner at Giardina's with some high school friends who were able to make it town for our annual get together of the season. We had 16 that were able to make it. Some with spouses some without. Lulu and Scott came to town and stayed the night. Avery, Liza, Kim, Kitt and Jason, Kelly and Ted, Boyce and Steele, John Burnham, me and Floyd, Sara Beth...we even got Kevin Adams to get out of bed and come join us! We all had such a great time just getting together last minute for a meal in Gwood! Ahhhhh why do I not have a single picture of this event?? Geesh....now that's pitiful.

McLean, Lisa, Patten and May May arrived on Saturday and we crammed as much as we possibly could in the short time they were here. We did Christmas with the Milner side one night and Christmas with the Trotter side the next day. Everything was based out of our house so we were able to stay put and most everyone came to us. We did have some relaxing moments which was great! There is just no way of escaping Christmas for me being at least a weeklong event jammed packed. I'm not complaining at all that's just how we roll....I'm just saying..... Following that weekend we had the Craig Family Gathering, Christmas Eve, Christmas morning, day and night, New Year's Eve Supper Club, the purchasing of a new hunting camp house and last but not least the Cotton Bowl! I promise pics from each of these events of some sort will be posted.

However, I have always said that I treasure the week after Christmas because it's rest and recovery time. I'm all geared up for the hustle bustle of the holidays as soon as the break begins. BUT the week afterward...now that's golden my friends!

So now here we are in 2010! Am I the only one that remembers as a child thinking that the year 2010 would bring Jetson styled rides and such????...I think the Toyota Prius is trying it's best for that look. In this new year things are slower paced...yes...that's what January brings...cold air, deer and duck hunting and slower schedules. Slightly slower but not total boredom and extra spare time that's for sure. I hope to use this time to catch up with my blog along with things home and work to be done.

Let the Holiday reminiscing begin...blog style....stay tuned...
