NEW HOUSE PICTURE!!! (finally)

This picture was meant to be framed below after my blog to explain.....but it's a great one indeed.

Finally I have succeeded in taking a decent picture of the new exterior paint color. Actually it's more like the weather has succeeded in letting me actually get outdoors to take a picture with a blue sky background. I will post some more pics one day soon and maybe even some of the inside. But even exterior side angle pictures would reveal about 10 worker trucks parked next to the house so I will save those shots for a later date and spare that view for now. Well, here it is the Friday of Labor Day weekend. This was the actual "original" official move in date for us. BUT that being said, it's not a total loss. We are going to actually try to get our kitchen moved or at least mostly moved. We still have tons of "cleaning out" to do on Bell Avenue so I hope it'll be a productive weekend yet. I'm sure it will. Thanks to my good friends, Boyce Robbins and Ann Fann, who a few weeks ago kicked my butt in gear and came over and packed up all unnecessary trinkets, accessory items and picture frames and totally DEcluttered and DEpersonalized my house. I needed that swift kick in a big way. Now it's operation purge and pack! Here's my pondering thought for the day, "How on EARTH do those people who house hop every 3-4 years or build a house just to sell it stay SANE?" This moving stuff is for the birds. I'm glad that hopefully this is our final move till Floyd and Anne Craig escort us out to Indywood in about 50 years. Speaking of Indywood, Goodaddy is doing great. Think they have their weekly wine and cheese party this afternoon. Hope that tradition continues when I get there. Of course, they are going to have to up the wine selection to a nice Pinot or Cabernet rather than your token White Zen or as Cham likes to call it, Melted Popcicle. (he's so correct) But most of their current patrons don't complain and are happy and most go strait to bed after just one glass. Operation cleanout at Gamba's continues on as well.... that is like the ultimate treasure hunt of all time. It's been absolutely facinating to see what all that precious lady collected and treasured. You would not believe the newspaper articles, pictures, wedding invitations, children's clothes, rocks, preserved insects, toys, clothes, clothes and more clothes. She was amazing and I have been having some sad moments this week thinking about her and missing her terribly. I think it has to do with us getting ready to move and the big decisions we've made and all the things that I usually always consulted with Gamba about like decorating a house. We had such fun together. After all I was her ONE and ONLY grandaughter as she always told me. I know she's looking down watching us and smiling hopefully at what all we have going on. Here is one of her last pictures taken before her death Jan. 1. I hope everyone has a great Labor Day Weekend.

In the meantime.....

Well, as most of us know it's been raining for like 7 days strait on and off here in the Deltalands. Therefore, no pictures of the house have been able to be snapped as of yet...OR maybe I'm making excuses...or maybe just afraid to actually have to try to post pics on my blog.....hmmmm... nevertheless we'll see what happens in the next day or so. But the cooler temps have been nice. It's as though we complain that it's hot and then we complain when the rain comes to cool things off. I guess it's just hard to be satisfied. Am I right?? SO, IN THE MEANTIME...I'll just blog a bit. I have to mention this Facebook topic. It's one that I think I am avoiding for some bizarre reason. I think it's b/c I don't understand it nor do I think other 36 year old "hip" working mothers are on it. Reality is I think I'm in denial. As my sister in law, Lisa D. and my good friend Allison Pillow have both said in the past week, "I think Facebook is where it's at!" I sit and wonder, "Where what is at?". I guess I'll check out that website one day soon and see. I'll save my findings for another blog.

Speaking of 36 year olds... I need to give a shout out HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my good friend Avery Mounger Lee. Not even sure if Ave knows I have a blog yet but I think she reads Lisa D's some so I'll assume she'll weave her way to my site eventually. Avery and I have been friends since I guess like 1985 when I moved to Greenwood. She was one of my first friends in Greenwood and still remains one of my best friends today. Let's see.... I think we actually met before I moved because my parents would drive me from Belzoni to Greenwood to tennis lessons and clinics with Mary Frances Craig at the Greenwood Country Club. (Speaking of...that may be another blog for another day but the pondering question to that topic is, "Would I be driving Anne Craig and Floyd 36 miles to tennis lessons???" Since I don't have my Magic 8 Ball or my Book of Answers handy I could guess the anwer would be- I Doubt It. But I am grateful to my parents who did. Thanks Anne Hamilton and Cham!!) But back to topic, Avery and I lived 2 doors down from each other on West President. AND to tie it all together full circle(Facebook style ??? maybe???)...my new house is just down the side street from where we grew up....(promise pics are coming)

Guess that is all for now...

Hello Everyone! I am finally jumping head first into the blog world thanks to my sisters in law, Blewett and Lisa D. inspiring me on. I will try to keep everyone updated on what is going on in the Melton Family in Greenwood, MS. Here goes....There is no time like the present to start our blog since we are about to move into a new home and all of the craziness that goes along with that. I need to figure out how to post pictures on this blog so everyone can see the latest.
